Asphalt Process
A digger is used to remove materials and soil to a suitable subgrade level, in some situations where there is no access for our small digger this would be done by manual labor i.e. jackhammers for removing old paths and good old fashioned shovels, crow bars and wheelbarrows.
It is then back filled with a base course which is then compacted. We can use timber edging or a concrete kerb and channel.
The compacted hard fill, which has water applied for good compaction then needs to be left to dry for a few days before sealing.
The asphalters will then come out to your site depending on drying conditions to lay the required depth of asphalt. This is a large team of experienced asphalters and it generally only takes half a day to seal an average sized driveway.
The new asphalt can be walked on the same day that it is laid and vehicles can use the new asphalt the next day. Instructions for the care of asphalt will also be given onsite on the day of sealing.
